Jairo Guedz

Jairo Guedes (a.k.a. Jairo Guedz) was the lead guitar player of Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura prior to Andreas Kisser. His recorded output with the band includes the Bestial Devastation (1985) EP and their first full-length, Morbid Visions (1986). When playing with Sepultura he used the alias "Tormentor",[1] and on occasion, "Jairo T."[2] Jairo also played guitar with The Mist, Overdose and Eminence, all metal bands from Brazil.

He left Sepultura in early 1987,[3] claiming he was "looking for something different", musically speaking.[4] He was replaced a week later by Andreas Kisser. He is also father of Igor and Érico, 17 and 12 years old respectively. Nowadays he lives in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He remains good friends with the band to this day and often joins them at soccer matches. He recently appeared on Sepultura's latest DVD, Live in São Paulo, playing guitar on the songs "Necromancer" and "Troops Of Doom", both of which appeared on the Sepultura studio album he contributed to, Morbid Visions.
